West Wight Road Runners were well represented at the first running of the Ryde 10 mile road race, organised by Ryde Harriers, and enjoyed a triple success. Paul Cameron continued his good form with a comfortable win in the event, recording a fast time of 55.04. Madeline Goodman was winner of the over-55 age category in 87.03, and Ian Jolliffe led home the over-60s in 67.56. The club also gained second place in the team event, with Paul Cameron capably backed up by new members Simon McMorran (67.07) and Andrew McEwan (67.21), together with Danny Mannion (67.56). These three were 4th, 5th and 6th in the over-40 age group. The contingent was completed by Dave Baker (81.28), Bill French (83.46) and Vic Loveday (87.33), the latter two claiming 7th and 8th positions among the over-60s.
