Andrew McEwan breaks the three hour barrier in the Cardiff Marathon
Andrew McEwan travelled over to Cardiff to compete in the city marathon on Sunday 15th October. Having carefully choosing the course the conditions were ideal for the 9am start. Running his fourth marathon of the year, and sixteenth of his career, Andrew developed a a comfortable pace from the outset, and running even splits throughout , he achieved a lifetime ambition of breaking the magical three hour barrier, coming home in a wonderful time of 2 hours 57 mins and 46 secs. Finishing 45th overall of the 1243 finishers and 6th in his age group, this was a new pb by some 7 minutes.
Simon McMorran said, "As Andrew's friend and training partner of many hundreds of miles I know this was a very special moment for him, and one which I feel immensly proud to record here."
