On Tuesday evening Andrew & Simon travelled over to Ryde to run as guests in their club 10 mile road race. This is part of a series of races run over the summer months, comprising of both straight races and nominated timed races over distances of 5000m to 10 miles. There are also a host of track races in Sandown.
Tuesday’s race was over a two lap course which was run in cool, still conditions. Fourteen runners toed the line at the start, and both WWRR’s were prominent throughout. Simon felt strong from the start and ran a controlled race, finishing first in a good time of 62 mins 24 secs, running each lap in exactly the same time. Andrew easing his way back into training started at a cautious pace, and picked up on the second lap. His reward was a time of 66 mins 47 secs for third place.
Ryde Harriers always welcome guest runners to their club races. For more information you can follow the links from the WWRR site.
