Ryde Harriers (now in the 3rd division) 3K Race

RYDE Harriers’ summer season continued at Sandown track, on Tuesday evening, with a 3,000m race.

Five guest runners took part and filled the first three places. Winner was Rod Parker, of IWAC, in ten minutes 17.5 seconds. Second was Simon McMorran, of West Wight Road Runners, in 10.42.2, followed by team-mate Andy McEwan in 10.59.9. Fourth and first Ryde Harrier was Peter Watson in 11.33.2 and fifth, and second Harrier, was Peter Carr, senior men’s, in 11.57.8.

First lady runner home was guest Mary Norman, unattached, in 12.41.5 and second lady and first Harrier was Bridget Lewis in 17.31.0. Ryde’s Steve Lee was first vet 65 in 13.04.3.

Tuesday will also be a track event at Sandown of 1,500m at 7.30pm prompt.
