Sunday saw ideal running conditions for the third HRRL race of the season, the Gosport half marathon. The flat two lap course made a welcome change from the hills of the island.

The IoW was well represented in a field of 874, with WWRR & Ryde fielding full men’s teams, & although not league members, IoW Road Runners had both men’s & ladies teams. In all some 99 clubs were represented in this popular event. The quality in the field was evident from the winners time of 65 mins 36 secs.

Performance of the day goes to Madeline, who came home in 1 hour 56 mins & 11 seconds for first lady V60. This also gave her 134th place in the ladies category & 612th overall.
