As spring marathons rapidly approach Madeline Goodman, Gareth Knight and Andrew McEwen headed to the Fleet half marathon on Sunday the 15th of March. They enjoyed a beautiful spring day and with 2104 finishers it was a busy but civilised and a very well organised race. With all three having competed in the Salisbury 10 miles the Sunday before the Fleet half was a test of resilience and recovery as well as a chance to prove their training was on track.
Gareth came home in 1h30m22s and 216th overall place and was a little surprised not to say flattered to find himself in 6th place for the V50 category. Andrew finished in 1h31m39s and 255th overall building towards his target for Stratford-upon-Avon. Madeline completed the trio with 1h57m36s and 1253rd place, however this did not do justice to her marvellous 2nd place in the F60 category.
It is to be hoped this all bodes well for London and Stratford-upon-Avon on the 26th of April.
