Seven West Wight Road Runners took part in the Salisbury 10 Road Race, in perfect running conditions, following a very foggy start to the day, when it was touch and go as to whether they would actually get off the Island, and get to the race.
Three men turned out, making a depleted team. Andrew McEwan was first WWRR home recording a fantastic time of 1.03.53. Dave Cotton was next in 1.30.08 and Eric Critchison, returning from injury, managed a good time of 1.31.52.
Four ladies took part, which meant a full team of three scored. Relative newcomer to the Road Race League, Sarah Smith, was first lady home in a superb time of 1.26.27, which was 13 minutes faster than her time recorded at the recent Ryde 10. Chris Amy was next home in a time of 1.28.01, followed by Madeline Goodman in 1.31.56 and Karen Downer in 1.33.43.
