Seven West Wight Road Runners travelled to Eastleigh to compete in the Eastleigh 10k race an event, which was part of the Hampshire Road Race League. It was a beautiful spring day perfect for running with two thousand runners and the 25th anniversary race.
First runner home was V40 Andrew McEwen who finished in 182nd position and a time of 38.44, next runner was V50 Gareth Knight in 220th place with a personal best 10k time of 39.30, Ian Jolliffe V60 in 337th position and a time of 42:15 and Paul Scivier V40 in 43.45. V40 Stephen Morris running his second race for the club and first 10k race for a number of years finished close behind in 424th position and a time of 44.21 and V60 Vic Loveday finished in 999th position and a time of 53.01, very closely followed by Madeline Goodman in 1003rd position with a time of 53.05.
The men’s team is in position 5 in the second division of the Hampshire Road Race League with two races remaining.
